Paranoid Water tank truck
Paranoid Water tank truck is a clear homage to Dalí. Seen from behind, the vehicle begins to resemble an elephant’s trunk. The place where I used to live had been desert in the past, and water tank trucks were part of everyday life there, used for everything from watering plants to supplying water where it was needed. They are the kind of ordinary things you begin to see with different eyes when you travel. There is also a paradoxical play on words: the state water company in Peru was SEDAPAL, while sed means ‘thirst’ in Spanish. The image is an evocation of a near future in which the next wars may be fought over water and natural resources.
